During these past 2 years, we made a bet: reuniting ukulele players from around the world in the Vosges region (north-eastern France), pretty much like Mainland Ukes’ Mike & Tookta’s Ukulele World Congress.
For the past 4 years now, in early June, the UWC brings together, in the middle of nowhere, Indiana (USA), Internet users & ukulele addicts from across the planet (USA, Australia, UK, Sweden, Germany, France, …). Most of them already know each other from sites such as YouTube or Ukulele Underground and can finally meet each other in flesh and bones. During a crazy week-end full of jam sessions & open mics, true friendships are born or strengthened. This is what makes this “Woodstock of Ukuleles”, as it has been nicknamed, so unique. With this experience and great souvenirs in mind, we adapted this concept in 2011, in order to share it and allow our fellow Gallic ukers to discover and enjoy it. Our goal was thus to reunite worldwide ukulele lovers and have them meet each other in a relaxed atmosphere. The first 2 editions were such a success that we're doing it again this year! So, FIULettes & FIULers around the world, that already came or that will register this year, we're impatient to see you in the Vosges, June 28th, 29th and 30th! Cheers, Meylie Mellow & Rel-Bar |
